This Wednesday I will be auditioning for the host position of a new green living show. Given my new green and frugal lifestyle–and my desire to write a book on the topic–this would be the perfect gig for me.
Now, I’ve just got to figure out the perfect outfit for me. To wear to the audition, that is.
When the casting folks called last week to schedule my audition, they told me that the dress code was “casual but stylish.” Since I haven’t got time to ring up Stacy London and Clinton Kelly from my favorite show “What Not to Wear” (and I don’t know them anyway), I was hoping that you might be able to help me pick out an appropriate “casual yet stylish” outfit.
I would really appreciate your thoughts and feedback on what you think I should wear–and “what not to wear” to the audition.

READ LEAH ON HOME GOES STRONG

I can’t pick a favorite, but I can tell you to forget about the jeans. Right now. Back away slowly, and no one gets hurt.
I like the gray suit with the blue top or the gray? sweater set. My third vote would be red jacket/black pants.
ok..you asked!
I liked what you had on this morning when I saw you leaving school..the shorts were very cute on you! When I first read your email, I pictured Earth Mama version 2007…earth colors (blues, greens, browns) You look good in the jewel versions of those colors. I do agree about the Jeans (no go) but then I thought the other outfits didn’t say “i’m cool, hip, earthy”.
So…i like the blue shirt..try it with the shorts or do you have a tshirt with those colors in it to go with? I’m sure you’ll do GREAT! Let us know.
No jeans! I like the gray suit with the blue sweater, or the black with the red. Any chance of wearing the pink sweater with the gray suit. Also, get different shoes! Payless is having a sale, or I’m an 8 1/2 if you want to borrow.
Leah, I would not wear the jeans. They are too casual. I like the gray (?) pants — the ones with your hands in the pockets and the pink shirt. Form fitting is good because as you know, the camera adds pounds anyway. If you decide to go with another shirt, you might add a scarf around your neck, a longer necklace or a belt to break up the solid colors and add a little pizzazz.
First of all, good luck on your audition!
I prefer the all-black silhouette with the reddish jacket. It gives your upper body great definition.
Only, I think I might add a chunky wooden necklace in place of the beads, which would make the whole ensemble a little earthier and casual.
Definitely the pink top and grey pants.
Tough decision: I like the green, but I also like the jacket. My favorite is the black with blue combo. It’s bold colors for the camera, but not so bright it would outshine you.
I don’t know you, but I like your blog and wish you the best at your audition. Personally, I would not wear jeans, unless they are the new brand of organic cotton (it’s a green living show after all). I like the black outfit with the red. When picking I would go for less of and “interview” look and more of a organic green look. Earth friendly clothing says I am committed to being green! Good Luck!
