Ever wonder what to do with those broken crayons you’ve got hanging around the house? Maybe you just cleaned out your kids’ school bag and found a bunch of orphaned crayons. Well, check out this link on “A Year of CrockPotting,” one of my new favorite blogs. While this blog usually focuses on cooking in the CrockPot 24/7, yesterday Stephanie, the blog’s creator, tackled making CrockPot Crayons. What a great way to recycle crayons! Enjoy!

I’ve made crayons in muffin tins, but this is new! When I worked in child care, we reused everything because we had no budget.
Thanks for turning me on to the crockpot blog! Would you believe, I’ve been wanting a crockpot for a while, and then suddenly two different friends gave me a crockpot and some crockpot cookbooks for free, all in the space of a week! Clearly, the universe is working through you and my other friends to lead me to a life of crockpot cooking
Thanks for the link to the crockpot blog, I have a crock pot that I use once in awhile but really want to use more often. Of course most of the convenience ingredients aren’t available here, but I liked the arborio rice recipe.
regards,
Theresa
This is a great tip. I made them a few years ago with my childen. We made ours in the oven right in the muffing tin. Just another option.
thank you, Leah, for linking to my blog and for your nice words. I’ve made the crayons in the oven before, too! They work well that way, and when I taught preschool we used a toaster oven.
we end up with SO many crayons in our house!
