School Supplies for a Penny

13 cents for school supplies. That’s how much (or little) I spent last year when I did some early school-supply shopping during the Staples 1¢ sale. Well, guess what? The Staples 1¢ sale is going on again now–from July 12 through July 15. I’m heading out to stock up on some must-have back-to-school supplies on the cheap. What about you?

Target has some great deals starting right now too. I often stock up during their sale and then donate the unneeded items to the school or to a charitable organization. Who can resist 10 cent elmer’s glue, or packages of glue sticks for 50 cents? I don’t feel badly spending few extra bucks knowing that if we don’t benefit, others will.

I’ve also been watching Walgreen’s ads for some great deals. Crayola markers 10 count for .99 a box. My son’s school sent home the school supply list for next year at the end of this past school year, so I checked off the items he already has and write down on the ad which items he needs. I’ve also been buying extra as there’s a community school supply drive. I don’t think I can match the .13 cents Leah spent last year, but can’t resist a good deal.
