Hi Leah,
I bought your book on New Year’s Day and I almost read the whole book in one sitting that evening. I love it. I have a tip for you…By joining ERewards.com and completing on-line surveys (as many or as little as you want – you set the average amount per week) you can earn points towards free products and services (1800 Flowers.com, magazine subscriptions, Angus burgers, airline miles, etc.). The only thing is that you have to be “invited” to apply to become a member (membership is free too). I got my “invitation” from the Continental Onepass (frequent flyer program). I’ve gotten many different free 1 yr. subscriptions (Latina, Forbes, Wine and Travel)…and the surveys are usually short and very easy. I thought I’d share that with you and your readers.

Here’s a frugal tip for 2010: reuse your 1999 calendar. That’s the last year that began on a Friday. Of course some holidays like Easter will be different, but most everything else should be in sync. This calendar reuse strategy works well except on leap years. You’ll have to keep a lot of old leap-year calendars to make that work.
