Don’t forget to get your free medium coffee at Dunkin Donuts on Mondays in March, as I mentioned in last week’s Freebie Friday. Only problem? Not all locations are participating, including the Dunkin Donuts where I live. When I walked in this morning and asked for my free medium coffee, the people behind the counter looked at me as if I had three heads. Needless to say, I’m brewing my own free coffee at home right now. But maybe you’ll have better luck at a Dunkin Donuts near you.

This is pretty much a bogus offer. It’s available only in very few markets; whole states are excluded. It is a classic case of marketing gone bad. They see to be building more ill will with this “promotion” than customers. They’ve advertised it in markets whose stores are not honoring it, among other things.
I was thinking about this today and realized that the promotion is likely in markets where Dunkin Donuts has newly expanded–and this is their way of grabbing market share. I’m not sure I’d got as far as calling it bogus but it’s a bummer when your state is not included (neither PA nor NJ is).
