There are two new penny deals at Staples this week.
As I suspected, now that it’s officially back to school in Staples stores, Staples is offering different penny deals each week to help parents like me stock up for back to school, albeit one to two school supplies at a time.
In addition to items being offered for one cent, this week you can find a few freebies as well as supplies for a buck or less.
And that $5 off a purchase of $30 coupon I’d mentioned was available online? It is front and center in this Sunday’s Staples circular. So be sure to cut it out–or print it out–and use it. It expires 7/28/12.
For the week starting Sunday, July 22nd, here are the two items you can get for a penny at Staples:
- Staples brand cap erasers, 12 in a pack (normally $1.29)
- Staples ruled 3X5 white index cards, 100 per pack (normally $1)
With each of these deals, you are limited to two per customer, and it says you have to spend a minimum of $5 to get the penny deal. This week I noticed a clarification of this deal:
Minimum spend does not include tax or cost of any extreme deal item.
So in order to get to the minimum $5, you must be being items other than the penny deals.
In addition to the penny deals, there are other specials for back to school at Staples this week worth noting:
FREE (after rebate)
- Zebra mechanical pencils ($4/$4 Easy Rebate=free)
- Pentel ballpoint pens ($4/$4 Easy Rebate=free)
- Staples stickies, 1/2 inch, 125 per pack
- Sharpie highlighers
- Two-pack of Post-It die-cut notes
- Avery glue sticks (3 per pack)
- Rose Art markets
- Staples clipboard
If your kids need mechanical pencils or ballpoint pens, I would recommend buying those to get to your $5 minimum, then adding in the penny deals. That way you’ve purchased items that end up being free after rebate and you will, in fact, have only spent a few pennies on school supplies.
