As I mentioned in last week’s Freebie Friday post, I’d spent a couple of days at the BlogHer conference in New York City. Part of the BlogHer experience includes an expo hall, where hundreds of brands and products display their wares, give away samples and freebies, and hope that you’ll write about them.
Many of the brands are those that I already use and have written about, such as Dannon Light and Fit. You’ll recall my recent blog post over on Home Goes Strong about off-beat places to look for coupons, and how I’d found a high-value, $1 off coupon on the lid of my Dannon Light and Fit yogurt. Anyway, Dannon was at BlogHer promoting the new Light and Fit Greek Yogurt. Not only did they give me a sample, they offered to take a picture of me trying it. I did, I liked it, and I thought you’d get a kick out of this photo!
Many brands were sharing ways that blog readers could get freebies. In other instances I stumbled upon freebie opportunities that I could pass along to you. So given all that background, here are a handful of freebies from BlogHer that I hope you’ll be able to take advantage of and use:
- Chili’s was at BlogHer, along with other members of the National Restaurant Association, to promote Kids Live Well, a program to bring healthy food to kids meals at restaurants nationwide. As luck would have it, from August 6-8, kids eat free at Chili’s–perfect timing, I’d say!
- If you like Eggland’s Best on Facebook, you can get a free e-cookbook from Eggland’s Best and Epicurious. Normally, the download would cost $9.99! I found out about this freebie when I visited the Eggland’s Best booth at the BlogHer expo.
Martha Stewart, yes THE Martha Stewart, was one of the keynote speakers at the conference. She provided a code to get a free digital subscription to all her magazines–Martha Stewart Living, Everyday Food, Whole Living, and Martha Stewart Weddings. Go to the Martha Stewart site on your iPad, and enter the promotion code “G9mcxx”.
- August 11th is National Bowling Day, and the folks from GoBowling.com were at BlogHer handing out postcards about this upcoming “holiday.” You can get your coupon to bowl for free from that site, and the reps there told me that more than 3,000 centers nationwide in the United States would be participating by offering free bowling. (Note to self: take the kids bowling on Saturday, August 11th!)
- McDonald’s introduced its under 400 calories menu. And when I got back home I noticed that there were a bunch of free food at McDonald’s coupons in the Sunday paper. So perhaps you should dig out the paper from the recycling bin and check to see if you got those freebie coupons, too.
