This “I Voted” sticker can help you get some discounts and deals on Election Day 2012.

Voting day is today! It couldn’t hurry up and get here fast enough–not only because I’m excited about electing the next American president but also so all the damn political calls and ads on TV will stop.

I guess I was lucky not having power or phone service for a week because it was a week when I wasn’t subjected to all of this political nonsense. But now that I’m back online in all aspects of my life, so is the political push.

By Tuesday night we will have elected a president and the ads and calls should stop. Hallelujah.

You know what else you can say hallelujah to? The fact that a number of businesses are offering free stuff and Election Day 2012 deals. Here’s a list of what you can expect to find on voting day for free or at least at a discount. There are 11 of them.

Most importantly don’t forget to vote!

  • Tijuana Flats: Called Guac the Vote, you can get a FREE appetizer when you show your “I voted sticker.”
  • Taco Bueno: On November 6th, participating Taco Bueno locations will celebrate the election by giving away FREE sides of fresh made in-house chips and guacamole to anyone who votes.
  • California Tortilla: Anyone who either wears their “I VOTED” sticker on Tuesday, November 6th, or says “VOTE” to the cashier will get a free taco—no strings attached.
  • Buca di Beppo: You can benefit at least twice from dining at Buca di Becco on Election Day. First, you can get a two-for-one  lunch deal and then $5 off or $10 off Famiglia Meals, which are meals to go for dinner. You need to use these coupons.
  • On The BorderFREE sopapillas with purchase of at least one entrée and coupon available by email from restaurant’s Facebook page.
  • White Castle: FREE small Sweet Potato Waffle Fry with a purchase and your “I Voted” sticker. Or vote for your favorite style of fries on Facebook and receive a coupon for a FREE small Crinkle Cut or Sweet Potato Waffle Fry. Note: If you haven’t “Like”d White Castle yet on Facebook, you will need to do so in order to get this free deal.
  • Chicago’s Pizza Restaurant: Get 10% off your dinner bill when you show your “I Voted” sticker.
  • Macaroni Grill: You can get $10 off an eligible online order of at least $20, with promo code FACEBOOK. While not technically an Election Day deal, it does expire on 11/6/12–voting day–so we’ll take it!
  • Tim Hortons: FREE doughnut with “I voted” sticker and purchase of a beverage.
  • Yogurtini: Yogurtini is offering a 20% discount on frozen yogurt and toppings for those who are wearing their “I Voted” stickers. Get the details on the Yogurtini Facebook page. To be honest it might be a little too nippy here in the Northeast today to enjoy this freebie. I hope you live somewhere warmer and can indulge.
  • The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal will both drop their paywalls so that you can access the respective papers for free and get your Election Day coverage, according to Romenesko.
