Since it looks like April 15, 2013 or thereabouts is going to be a great time for Tax Day freebies, I wanted to get a head start on doing a Freebie Friday roundup on all the free stuff you’ll be able to enjoy on or about April 15. Given the hassle that doing an American tax return can become, it’s great to know that some companies want to reward their customers with free stuff–be it free food, giveaways or more.
So far I’ve been able to track down 9 Tax Day freebies for April 2013. I’ve listed them in chronological order below, since some of them start before April 15 and a few of them go beyond that date as well:
Starting April 6: Cintas, a service provider to companies worldwide, is hosting complimentary shredding events that are free to attend and open to the public. Visit the Cintas site to find a location near you. Cintas says all of the shredded paper is recycled into secondary paper products such as paper towels and tissue to help protect natural resources–so timely with Earth Day later this month!
April 8-11: The Melting Pot is celebrating National Cheese Fondue Day on April 11 with a special “Buy Cheese, Get Cheese” offer. Guests who make reservations at The Melting Pot locations in the U.S. for April 8–11 and mention “National Cheese Fondue Day” or “BCGC” will have the opportunity to enjoy seconds on cheese fondue for free with the purchase of the first portion. (OK, so not quite tax day but close enough–and free. The free part is so important.)
April 12: Trojan, the condom company, has a tax day freebie that may not be right for everyone but was worth mentioning. It is giving away free vibrators in San Francisco to folks who find the Trojan Vibrations Pleasures Cart and mention that they’ve filed their taxes. The giveaway is from 12 noon until 4 p.m., while supplies last. You can track the cart via the Trojan Vibrations Facebook page.
April 15: Trojan heads south to repeat the April 12th giveaway but this time in Los Angeles. Again, check the Facebook page for more information. The giveaway is 12 noon until 4 p.m., while supplies last.
April 15: Arby’s has made Tax Day freebies a tradition. For the third straight year, it is giving away free Value Sized Curly Fries OR Small Potato Cakes. You can also enter to win a $500 tax relief payout, which 10 lucky customers will win. Print out a coupon here.
April 15: Cinnabon bakeries nationwide will treat guests with two free Cinnabon Bites from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm as part of its annual Tax Day Bites promotion.
Thru April 16: Office Depot will help you safely and securely get rid of your sensitive personal financial information for free with its free shredding offer. You can bring in up to five pounds of paper for free shredding when you present this coupon.
April 17: Panda Express is keeping the Tax Day freebies thing going with this free offer for Samurai Surf and Turf. Head over to the Panda Express website to print out this coupon–or to show it on your mobile device–to get a free single serving that day.
Through April 30: Subway has a freebie offer that’s not quite a tax day freebie, but since you can conceivably get this free offer on April 15, I’ve decided to include it. It’s a buy one, get one free sandwich deal, if you visit Subway before 9 a.m. to purchase a breakfast sandwich. To thank you Subway will give you a free sandwich for lunch. Get all the details on the Subway website.
Given that I’m posting this more than a week before the actual Tax Day 2013 occurs, if I come across addition freebies, I’ll be sure to write a follow-up post pointing you towards the addition free offers.
