Lots Of Coupons for Blu-Ray Movies

February 4, 2012
By

Are you planning any mini-movie marathons at your house in February? We did just that at our house last weekend, watching both “50/50″ and “Super 8″ On Demand through Xfinity. The weekend before that we watched “The Help.” I’m hoping that between inexpensive movies On Demand, matinee features, Groupons for movie tickets, and coupons for DVDs, I’ll be able to see all the Oscar-nominated movies before the Academy Awards on Sunday, February 26th.

In the meantime, I thought you’d enjoy having the following coupons for dollars off a handful of movies out on Blu-Ray; I’m bringing these to you via one of my affiliate networks, and I hope it helps you not only to save money but to have fun enjoying a movie night in sometime soon.

Please scroll down to access all the coupons! Read more »

Great Groupon for Movie Tickets

February 3, 2012
By

This Groupon offer just came into my inbox–it’s for 50% off AMC Movie Tickets. Here are the basics of this deal:

  • For $12, you get two AMC Silver Experience movie tickets (up to a $24 value).
  • For $24, you get four AMC Silver Experience movie tickets (up to a $48 value).

After buying this Groupon you’ll receive tickets by mail in 7-14 days. That’s why you will need to provide your shipping address during the checkout process of buying this Groupon.

The Groupon voucher can’t be redeemed at theaters. You must wait for the tickets to arrive in the mail.

I hope that by the time you see this post, this hasn’t sold out. By the time I’d clicked on the email in my inbox, 1,000 Groupons has already been sold. A sellout is what happened to me recently with the CVS Groupon–20 minutes after a friend posted about it on Facebook, I clicked on the link and BAM! it was sold out.

Super Bowl Party on the Cheap

January 29, 2012
By

superbowl partyCouponing experts I’ve spoken to had told me that the weekend before the Super Bowl, the Sunday newspapers would be loaded with coupon inserts–and that these inserts would be chock full of coupons you would want to use to buy things for your Super Bowl party. Boy, were they right. It’s like Black Friday before Super Bowl Sunday!

I get two Sunday newspapers each weekend, and this week I ended up with 5 coupon inserts. They were from Red Plum (2), Smart Source (2), and P&G (1). As far as being loaded with coupons for items you might want to have on a Super Bowl menu, they most definitely are. There were coupons for tomato sauce, beans, shredded cheese–all good for making chili–along with chips, cookies, and more.

If you want to throw a Super Bowl party on the cheap, definitely pluck those coupon inserts out of your Sunday paper before you toss them in the recycling bin. If it’s Monday morning and you fear it might be too late to go back and get a Sunday paper, stop in to your local dollar store, which may still have overruns of the Sunday paper–at at a buck a paper.

At the same time don’t forget about printing out online coupons, such as this coupon I’d posted for M&Ms last week. (I printed out one for myself and used it to save $1 on a few bags of pretzel M&Ms. Nom nom!) You can easily double your savings for free by printing out coupons and cutting coupons from Sunday circulars.

For more ideas on throwing a Super Bowl party on the cheap, check on my story on that topic on Home Goes Strong.

Extreme Couponing: Healthy Food

Two cases of Cuties Clementines, bought using coupons!

Last year I’d written about one of my extreme couponing moments involving breakfast cereal–Lucky Charms, to be exact, which my daughters had had a renewed interest in after Brittany on the show “Glee” wished for a box with marshmallows only in it. After that post went live, one of my faithful readers emailed me to congratulate me on my great buy but also to ask if I could tackle the topic of extreme couponing for healthy food. In fact, I’ve had other readers ask me about this as well, and I figured, why not?

For the past few months I’ve been trying to focus at least some of my couponing efforts on saving as much money as possible on healthy food. While I still haven’t mastered an extreme couponing coup of getting healthy food for free, I have re-educated myself on how to find coupons for healthy food and how to use them to save the most on healthy food. Here are some of the ways I’ve been able to extreme coupon for healthy food. Read more »

Save Big on Listerine at CVS

January 10, 2012
By

listerine coupons.comThere is a great deal going on right now for Listerine at CVS that combines an awesome coupon from Coupons.com and a sale/bonus at CVS.

Normally, when I see coupons for Listerine, it is something like $1 off 2, and then those coupons never include the Total Care line, which is what my dentist recommends we use. It’s also the priciest Listerine out there. However, this week, there is a deal going on that makes buying Listerine at CVS a real money saver.

  1. Visit Coupons.com to get this $1 off Listerine coupon, via my affiliate link.
  2. Print out the coupon and bring it with you to CVS between now and January 14th.
  3. All varieties of Listerine, including Total Care, are marked down to $3.99. (This is certain sizes, however, on sale only, so be sure to check the price tag.)
  4. When you use your Extra Rewards Card, you’ll earn $2 Extra Bucks from your Listerine purchase. That $2 Extra Bucks reward will print out with your receipt.
  5. Apply the $1 off coupon, and it’s like getting Listerine Total Care for $.99.
  6. Don’t forget to bring your own reusable bag and use your CVS Green Bag Tag. You earn $.25 each time you use it (once per day) in conjunction with a reusable bag. Once you’ve earned $1 in rewards, you get an Extra Bucks coupon that prints out on your store receipt.
  7. Also, ALWAYS scan your CVS Extra Reward card at the red kiosk in the front of the store to get special coupons. Keep scanning your card until the kiosk tells you no more coupons are available. Yesterday, when I scanned my card at the kiosk, I got a $13 Extra Bucks coupons. You read that right–THIRTEEN DOLLARS! (It was my quarterly Extra Bucks Reward print out.)

You are allowed a total of two (2) $2 Extra Bucks rewards for your Listerine purchase. So try printing out the Listerine coupon twice and buying the allowed 2 bottles of Listerine for maximum savings.

I know we’re running low on Listerine in our house, so maybe I’ll see you at CVS. By taking advantage of this savings/deal, your dentist and your wallet will thank you!

Look for $95 Worth of Coupons This Sunday

December 30, 2011
By

p&g couponsP&G is promoting its upcoming Sunday coupon circular–appearing in Sunday papers on January 1st, 2012–as having $95 worth of coupons inside of it. Even better, for every coupon you use, P&G will donate $.03 to the Special Olympics.

We’re big fans of the Venus razor, a P&G product, so I like to stockpile those coupons whenever they appear in a circular. The coupons are usually quite generous, too–like $3 off a razor. Granted, the razors are pretty pricey (but worth it), and when I can combine the P&G coupon with, say, an Extra Bucks Reward from CVS, I can pay pennies for these favored razors!

If you, too, like P&G products, why not sign up for their freebie program called “Have You Tried This?”

Loading Coupons On Your Loyalty Card

December 29, 2011
By

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I’ve been trying to read up more on couponing by reading books about couponing that other people have written. I did my review of Supershop like the Coupon Queen: How to Save 50% or More Every Time You Shop by Susan Samtur earlier this month, and now I’m in the middle of reading The Coupon Mom’s Guide to Cutting Your Grocery Bills in Half by Stephanie Nelson. So far, so great. I don’t think I’ve highlighted this much in a book since I was in college! There’s so much great stuff in this book.

One of my takeaways so far from The Coupon Mom’s Guide to Cutting Your Grocery Bills in Half is the notion of being able to load coupons onto your loyalty card. I’d first heard about this option when I signed up for an affiliate account with Cellfire, one of those companies that offers this service and pays bloggers like me a small commission to share links with readers. I didn’t pay much attention to Cellfire because the supermarkets that Cellfire works with weren’t located near me. Those supermarkets included Safeway and Kroger–be still my heart; I used to live in the Midwest and still miss shopping at Kroger.

Then I discovered that starting in 2012 ShopRite is joining the Cellfire network. And, I discovered, that Safeway owns a supermarket chain in my area called Genuardi’s. So if I wanted to, I, too, can join the Cellfire network by signing up my loyalty cards for both ShopRite (Price Plus Card) and Genuardi’s (Club Card), and start loading coupons onto those loyalty cards. (My only question: how do supermarkets handle the doubling of coupons when the coupon redemption is done electronically or virtually?)

Now that Cellfire has caught my attention, I figured I’d share this list of deals that will be available via Cellfire starting this week–ShopRite comes online on 1/1/12–and at the following supermarkets: Read more »

So expect that I’ll be posting more often throughout the day, rather than just the single editorial blog post that comes to your inbox each morning.

Old Navy 50% Off Groupon is Back

December 21, 2011
By

old navy grouponThat awesome Old Navy Groupon is back and up for grabs on Groupon. Through Saturday you can spend $10 on a Groupon, and use it to get $20 worth of Old Navy merchandise. (I bought this Groupon this summer, and it helped me get my kids the clothes they needed to go to camp, and at a discount!)

This has got to be one of the most popular Groupons out there, and I understand that there is a limited quantity available so click through my affiliate link and buy this Groupon right away, if you like shopping at Old Navy. (I know I do.)

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like you can use the Groupon when shopping online at Oldnavy.com (correct me if I’m wrong), but you can use it in the stores through January 28, 2012. This is a great holiday gift to give yourself or someone else. In fact, you are allowed to buy this Old Navy Groupon for yourself and one other person only.

Procter & Gamble has a great freebie program that includes lots of coupons, if you sign up through its “Have You Tried This?” program.

During December you can sign up for Crest 3D White Strips and Herbal EssencesTouchably Smooth via the P&G brandSAMPLER through the Have You Tried This Yet? website. (FYI, only one request per household is allowed for samples. Your samples will take four to six weeks to arrive.)

In addition to the P&G brandSAMPLER via snail mail, you can download P&G eSAVER coupons to your online shopper card–this feature is new to me. I’m going to have to check this out. You should, too, since the coupons total more than $54 dollars. However, you should do this downloading soon as the coupons expire on 12/31/11.

Speaking of coupons that you can download to your shopper card, here are two others worth checking out (these include my affiliate link):

    • Save grocery coupons directly to your supermarket savings card with Cellfire.
    • Save on your groceries with SavingStar! SavingStar is a new eCoupon service that’s totally paperless – so there’s nothing to clip or print. Get over 30 eCoupons worth over $50!

Two Triaminic Coupons in Time for Flu Season

December 19, 2011
By

My kids have already been sick this fall, but thankfully not with the flu–just colds. I’m sure getting them flu shots has helped, and I hope that no one in our family ends up ill this winter.

Even so I always like to plan for a worst-case health scenario and tend to keep lots of cold and flu medicine on hand at home–especially when I can stock up when things are on sale and I have coupons.

Based on that logic, now could be a good time to stock up on Triaminic medicine. That’s because you can get a great deal on Triaminic medicine, using my affiliate links below to Coupons.com and by shopping at CVS.

These coupons are for $3 off 2 Triaminic products, and $1 off 1 Triaminic product. I highlight CVS because this week at CVS, when you buy Children’s Triaminic, you’ll earn $3 ExtraBucks Rewards. Here’s how those savings could add up for you.

Children’s Triaminic  2 for $12
Get $3 Extra Bucks
Use $3 off 2 Coupon
Your final cost for two containers of Triaminic is 2 for $6 or $3 each

Note: You may even be able to throw in that extra $1 off coupon in the transaction as I’ve found that CVS allows you to use more than one coupon per product. If that turns out to be true, your final cost will be 2 for $5 or $2.50 each.

Here are links to those coupons:

Great Coupon for Candy Canes

December 16, 2011
By

couponsCheck out one of the newest coupons on Coupons.com this week for Wonka Candy Canes. The coupon is $1 off 2 boxes. (Note: if that coupon doesn’t come up right away when you click my affiliate link, click on “food” in the left column and then scroll to the second page, which is where I found the Wonka Candy Canes coupon.)

I know that this is the time of year when many people stock up on candy canes, especially if they have little kids and need candy canes for class parties. Additionally, this is the time of year that you’ll likely find a great deal on candy canes in the stores.

For example, other deal bloggers have found Wonka Candy Canes on sale for about a buck a box at places like CVS, Target and Walmart. With the $1 off 2 coupon, that makes each box about $.50 each. If you’d like to wait until after-Christmas sales to get even better bargains (assuming there is Wonka Candy Canes inventory left), you can use this coupon then, as it doesn’t expire until late December.

Either way, this coupon offers a great deal in my books, and I’m sure yours, too.

Get 2 Pairs of Glasses for $99

December 15, 2011

I’ll admit–this wasn’t very frugal of me. But, I just spent $250 for a new pair of glasses for my daughter. That was for frames and lenses, and it was a Christmas gift so I’d budgeted a bit more.

Clearly, you don’t have to spend as much as I did, if you take advantage of this deal–two pairs of glasses for $99 via EyeMasters/VisionWorks locations, plus you’ll get $10 off with this coupon.

Note: This is an affiliate link I’ve included here.

Suddenly Frugal Book Review: Coupon Queen

December 1, 2011
By

As I’d mentioned in an earlier post on extreme couponing, one of my goals for 2012 is to become better educated about couponing–including taking couponing to an extreme without going crazy. To that end I’ve been taping and watching back episodes of “Extreme Couponing,” and, thanks to an Amazon Gift Card I’d received, I treated myself to a handful of books on couponing. When I’m finished reading them, I will review them right here on Suddenly Frugal.

Supershop Like the Coupon Queen by Susan Samtur

The first book on my nightstand and which I recently finished was Supershop like the Coupon Queen: How to Save 50% or More Every Time You Shop by Susan Samtur. Samtur made a name for herself decades before the concept of extreme couponing was even in our collective consciousness. She is the author of the well-received book Cashing in at the Checkout. Clearly, this book was ahead of its time, because it shared with readers in the mid-1980s how best to take advantage of couponing and refunding–I remember my mother doing the latter in the early 1980s as a way to bring in extra cash. Extreme Couponing: Breakfast Cereal

November 29, 2011
By

This morning my family announced that there was nothing good to have for breakfast. When I checked the pantry, I discovered they were right–we were extremely low on breakfast cereal. Like, one box of Cheerios left and no one was in a Cheerios mood.

While I hadn’t planned on doing any food shopping in the next few days, I knew that I needed to re-up at least some of our supply of breakfast cereal. Hey, even I like a bowl of sweet cereal from time to time.

This shopping “challenge” couldn’t have come at a better time. Read more »

Extreme Couponing at CVS

November 21, 2011
By

extreme couponing cvsAs you know from past posts about what I’ve learned from watching “Extreme Couponing and my ability to extreme coupon at CVS, I am a devout CVS shopper. It helps that CVS is the only convenient pharmacy-like store to where I live–within walking distance and around the corner from my daughters’ school.

Last month I shared with you about how I was beginning to build my shampoo and conditioner stockpile, thanks to extreme savings at CVS. Well, those extreme savings are back.

This week CVS has marked down VO5 shampoo and conditioner to $.77 a bottle again–with a limit of 8 bottles per purchase. I happen to have recently earned a $5 Extra Bucks coupon at CVS, thanks to prior beauty purchases. What this means is this: if I’d like to add to my shampoo and conditioner stockpile–and I do–using this week’s VO5 prices, I’ll be able to get 8 bottles of shampoo and conditioner for $1.16 or $.14 per bottle.

Don’t have any Extra Bucks coupons burning a hole in your wallet? You can earn a biggie in one fell swoop this week.

If you spend $75 on iTunes gift cards at CVS, you’ll get $15 in Extra Bucks. There is a limit of one such purchase per household so you can only earn this $15 Extra Bucks once.

Considering I have two teenagers who live and breathe listening to downloaded music, iTunes gift cards were already on their holiday gift list. This sale will allow me to get them at a significant discount.

Note: the CVS sale week is truncated because of Thanksgiving–meaning that you’ve got to shop by Wednesday to get these deals. You can bet I’ll be stocking up on iTunes gift cards, and cheap shampoo and conditioner this week.

What kind of extreme couponing do you think you might do this week at CVS–or have done there in the past?
