Get $4 Off at CVS

You’ve heard me wax poetic before about my extreme couponing at CVS. Well now CVS is helping me accomplish even bigger savings. Between July 15th and July 18th, you can get a $4 coupon, off $20 spent, just by scanning your CVS Extra Care card at the coupon kiosk in the store. I visited CVS today, and everyone in the world must have been scanning their cards, because it took forever for the coupons to print out. But then I thought that the $4 off $20 coupon wasn’t there, until I found it was the very last coupon to...

Extreme Couponing: Watch Those Catalinas

Catalinas are those coupons that print out at the register when you check out of the supermarket. For the longest time I didn’t give them much thought, but now that I’m trying to save more money with couponing, I’ve come to realized how valuable those catalinas can be. I’ve also come to realize how careless supermarkets can be about ensuring that you get the catalinas they promise you in their weekly circulars. Extreme Couponing: Breakfast Cereal at CVS

I just got back from a trip to CVS where I was able to accomplish some extreme couponing for breakfast cereal. This week General Mills cereals are 2 for $4 at CVS–limit 4 boxes purchased per trip–which in and of itself is a great price. You rarely find name-brand cereal for $2 a box. Here’s how you can turn this transaction into an extreme couponing opportunity. Click over to SmartSource.com and look for General Mills’ cereal coupons. If you’re like me, you’ll find $1 off 2 boxes of General Mills cereal (shown above), and you’ll be able to print...

This past weekend I purchased a scanner at Staples for less than $3. No, that is not a misprint. Literally, I spent less than $3 out of pocket for a brand-new scanner that I will be using in my home office. Considering that this scanner’s listed retail price at Staples was $99, that’s some extreme couponing to be able to get a scanner for under $3. How did I do it? Well, I was able to stack free shipping, coupons, and rewards points onto a single transaction that brought my purchase down to barely nothing. I almost didn’t save...

Extreme Couponing: Coupons in Packages

How many times have you purchased an items at the supermarket because it promised to have coupons inside the package, only to have you forget about that offer and you threw those coupons away? I know that, unfortunately, I’ve fallen prey to this coupon marketing strategy of enticing shoppers with the promise of free coupons, and then I didn’t follow through on the freebie by remembering to cut out the coupons before discarding the package. I’m sure the extreme couponers on the TLC show “Extreme Couponing” never have this happen to them, but they’re probably not reading my tips...

Extreme Couponing: Buying Clothing

It’s interesting that I chose this week to write multiple blog posts on extreme couponing, as this is considered to be National Thrift Week. Why? Because Ben Franklin’s birthday is this week, January 17th, and he is considered to be one of the “founders” of thriftiness. Anyway, after writing about extreme couponing for healthy food and extreme couponing at CVS, some of the Suddenly Frugal readers ask me to write about extreme couponing for clothing. Thus the topic of today’s post. Let me admit upfront that my take on extreme couponing for clothing isn’t as traditional as extreme couponing...

I’ll admit that some of the best extreme couponing that I’ve been able to do has been at CVS. That’s why in today’s blog post on extreme couponing, I’m going to share some of the ways that I’ve been able to achieve extreme savings at CVS. Now...
