November 27, 2012

cheap fares tickets Christmas holiday travelRight now Southwest Airlines has a sale on cheap fares. These cheap fares will allow you to fly from certain Southwest cities to another U.S. destination, sometimes for under $100 each way.

Southwest is calling it a Cyber Monday sale. But don’t worry. You have until Thursday, November 29th to book these great cheap fares for holiday 2012 travel and beyond. Best of all: if you are one of those people who don’t mind flying on an actual holiday, these fares will work for you. That is, the blackout dates are all around Christmas but Christmas Eve (December 24) and Christmas Day (December 25) are wide open for the flying.

While these are some great cheap fares, they won’t help my own mother who will be flying in from Portland, Maine. The Southwest city listed here that includes Portland is Portland, Oregon. Now that Southwest has purchased AirTran, they aren’t serving Portland, Maine anymore, but AirTran is. I wonder if AirTran will have similarly good deals?
