As a real sophisticed consumer, I definitely have favorite brands and products. Many of them show up in my popular blog post on products with a lifetime guarantee.

To make it easier for readers and visitors to find those recommended brands, I’ve created this recommendations resource page full of some of my favorite products.

Let’s call it a gathering of a few of my favorite things. (Cue Julie Andrews in “The Sound of Music”.) This way you can find, in one place, these companies, products and services that come with my strongest recommendations.

Not only do I recommend them, but I believe that some of my favorite products can help you save hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars when shopping for the essentials you need.

Disclosure: Some of the products listed below include affiliate links, which means I get a small commission when you click on the link and make a purchase. There is no cost to you.

Amazon

First of all, you know that Amazon.com is a site where you can buy anything and everything. But you may not realize how much you can save with the Amazon Prime program.

Since signing up for Prime Student, both of my daughters have save thousands–literally, thousands–on college textbooks each year. You can try Amazon Prime for a 30-Day Free Trial. Or you can give the gift of Amazon Prime to someone you know and love.

Amazon has also started an Amazon Wedding Registry and an Amazon Baby Registry. I know that from time to time, when you start a registry, you get a free gift from Amazon.

NEW: Check out my personal shopping recommendations page on Amazon.

Rakuten (formerly Ebates)

Rakuten (formerly Ebates) should really hire me as a spokesperson. I’ve been shouting its benefits from the rooftops for years now.

It really truly is one of my favorite products, because it is the place that I start all of my online shopping. Why? Because when you shop through Rakuten, an online mall of sorts, you get cash back on your purchases.

Since starting to use this service in 2010, I’ve made more than $1,700 $1,900 cash back on things I was going to buy anyway, like holiday presents or client gifts.

Furthermore, when you sign up, you get a free $10 gift card to a retailer of your choice. So if you haven’t yet signed up to shop online through Rakuten, what’s holding you back? Remember: I’ve earned nearly $2,000 in free money on things I had planned to buy online anyway.

Noom

After years of struggling to maintain my weight, I finally signed up for Noom and it worked. I’m amazed at how easy Noom has been to follow and how the weight has just come off without a huge effort on my part.

I recently wrote My Noom Review and think you’ll enjoy reading it, especially if you’re on the fence about which program to join to lose weight. For me Noom has been affordable, doable and, most importantly, a total success.

Otterbox

I was a late adopter to Smartphones so had no idea how fragile they were. Then I dropped mine on my driveway and shattered the screen. When I asked my Facebook friends how they protect their Smartphones, all said the same thing: Otterbox. Now Otterbox is definitely one of my favorite products.

Otterbox makes pretty much indestructible phone cases for iPhones, iPads, Samsung Galaxy and more. I have the Defenders series Otterbox case for my iPhone6.

I have found that you’ll get the best price by buying your Otterbox from Otterbox.com (versus another store). What I especially like about Otterbox is its product warranty. Here’s a review I wrote about Otterbox and other companies that offer lifetime guarantees and lifetime warranties on their products.

SimpliSafe

Want to know how much our family loves SimpliSafe, the home security system? Not only do we have a SimpliSafe system in our house, but we’ve bought SimpliSafe systems for each of our daughters to have in their apartments.

We trust SimpliSafe so much that it’s the only security system we would use for our family. There are no long term contracts yet you get the same coverage as more expensive systems. Click here to check out SimpliSafe and see if it’s right for you, your home and your family. Finally, here is my recent review of SimpliSafe.

Stitch Fix

If you’re looking to find clothing from a personal stylist–but don’t want to have to pay big bucks–let me tell you about Stitch Fix. Stitch Fix is one of the best online styling companies out there.

I’ve been using Stitch Fix since 2015 and have been so happy with the clothing and accessories I’ve received in my “Fixes.” Stitch Fix can style everyone in your family, regardless of age or size. There is Stitch Fix Kids along with Stitch Fix Men for big and tall guys. Stitch Fix has a maternity option and carries clothing from sizes XS to 3X. Sign up for Stitch Fix today.

Zappos

As someone with hard-to-fit feet, Zappos.com has become my go-to place for shoes. In addition to having a great selection of wide width shoes, Zappos has great customer service.

You can get free shipping when your products is shipped to you. You get free shipping with your returns. And while Zappos.com doesn’t sell products under its own brand, I have found that it will stand behind them nonetheless, which is why I’ve included it in my blog post on lifetime warranties.
