There are 6 weekends when you will not find coupon inserts in the Sunday newspaper. These are usually holiday weekends. According to my research those weekends are typically the holiday weekends closest to the following holidays:
- Memorial Day
- Labor Day
- New Year’s
What a bummer that three of the six holiday weekends without coupons occur in November and December, a time of the year when shopping is top of mind for most. In fact, I’m not quite sure I understand the logic of not having coupons on holiday weekends. Don’t many people shop for holidays, because they are usually entertaining? And wouldn’t that make the most sense to have new coupons to inspire people to use them?
Of course, over the Thanksgiving weekend, while your Sunday paper may not include coupon inserts, I’m sure there will be plenty of ads for holiday deals. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if your Wednesday paper (not your Sunday paper) includes all the Black Friday deals.
The reason I’m bringing this up is this–there is a big holiday right around the corner, and you may be wondering where your coupons went.
Even though you won’t find new coupons in the newspaper on one of the next holiday weekends, that doesn’t mean that you can’t get coupons at that time. All you need to do is log onto the online couponing sites that you’ve heard me talk about so many times here. These include the following:
- Printable Coupons from SmartSource
- Print Free Grocery Coupons from RedPlum!
- SavingStar (which actually lets you earn cash back on your groceries)
- Ibotta app (also cash back)
You can always get coupons in the sidebar on right, by clicking through the ads there as well.
