EXPIRED: $3 Off Weight Watchers Smart Ones

November 8, 2011

This deal has expired. You know how I’ve been talking a lot lately about my attempts at extreme couponing. While I can’t produce 97% savings like the people on TLC’s show “Extreme Couponing,” I have found ways here and there to save what I think are big bucks. One example was my recent trip to SuperFresh where I was able to save $1.70 on each purchase of paper towels, and I could get a roll for $.20. That’s why I wanted to share with you this link to a HOT coupon for Weight Watchers Smart Ones. Those are the...

Freebie Find: Free Sandwich at Subway

In November, you can buy one 6″ sandwich & get one free at participating Subway locations. The offer is good daily, but here’s the catch: You can only get this deal before 9:00 a.m. each day. (I didn’t even know that Subway locations were open that early, but now that I think about it, Subway sells breakfast these days as well so they have to open early.) With this freebie deal, you can get lunch for two days in one stop, and you’ll get the second sandwich for free.* (*The sandwich that costs the least amount is the one...

Veterans Day Freebies 2011

November 7, 2011
By

In honor of Veterans Day, many establishments nationwide are sending out a “thank you for your service” message to current and retired members of the military by offering them freebies. These freebies are starting in some places on November 7th and running for an entire week; other Veterans Day freebies are for one day only. That’s why I’m posting about Veteran’s Day freebies in advance. (Later in the week I’ll be posting a roundup of Veterans Day discounts.) I’ve tried to round up as many of these deals as I can so that any military members who read Suddenly...

Extreme Couponing at SuperFresh

November 5, 2011
By

I just got back from doing a minor food shopping at SuperFresh (part of the A&P family). As I mentioned in my post about what I’d learned from watching the newest season of TLC’s “Extreme Couponing,” I’ve gotten into the habit of looking at the supermarket circulars for my two nearest grocery stores as I plan my week’s list. Normally, I would compare the circulars and then shop at each store on the same day. But two things prevented me from doing that this time around:

Will You Tank Your Bank Tomorrow?

November 4, 2011
By

Saturday November 5th is “Bank Transfer Day.” It’s the day where, according to social media, tens of thousands have signed up to drop big banks in favor of joining a credit union. (Bank Transfer Day and the hastag #banktransferday are both trending topics on Twitter.) I guess we had our own bank transfer day last spring when we decided to tank our big bank and go with a regional one instead (PNC). I think that if you choose to switch your accounts from a big bank, going with a local, regional, or online bank is just as smart as...

$30 Rebate on Coffee Maker

A few years ago my husband got me this awesome Cuisinart Grind and Brew Thermal Coffeemaker (left). What’s amazing about this machine is that it grinds beans on the spot and then brews the coffee, all in one place. I’ve used it every day since getting it as a gift–save for days when we’ve lost power, thanks to recent storms, or when I’ve taken advantage of the free coffee deals that I’ve covered on this blog. I believe that having such an amazing coffeemaker in my kitchen is why I’ve been able to be so consistent about brewing my...

$25 Gift Card for $15

How does spending $15 for a $25 gift card sound? Sounds pretty good to me. Right now you can purchase a $25 gift card to Boston Market for only $15. Once you purchase this deal, you will have to “redeem” the voucher for the gift card and then it will be mailed to you. Sounds complicated, I know, but once you go through the steps, it’s not a big deal. FYI, you have 60 days to redeem the voucher after purchasing it through Saveology, so make sure you do it before 2011 is out! (Note: I receive a very...

Score Event Tickets for Up to 60% Off

If you like to treat yourself to sporting events, concerts, the theater, and more–but you’re too frugal to pay full-price for tickets–you’ll want to know about this ticketing site I just discovered. It’s called ScoreBig and it lets you score tickets for up to 60% off. Rather than work as a “regular” discounted ticketing site, ScoreBig works on the Priceline/eBay model. That is, you pick the price that you want to pay for your tickets, and if your offer is “accepted” (i.e. there are tickets available in that price range), that’s the price you pay for your tickets. ScoreBig...
