Free Food: Free Ice Cream At Burger King

September 20, 2011

From now until October 9th, you can get a free soft serve ice cream cone or cup at Burger King when you purchase a BK Value Meal. This deal is supposed to be nationwide and at “participating Burger King restaurants” only. However, it’s not clear how you’re supposed to determine if the BK near you is, in fact, participating. I guess you have to ask when you order? (Thanks Cities on the Cheap for a heads up on this offer.)

Current Extreme Couponing at CVS

September 16, 2011
By

I’ve posted in the past how I find that I can do my “best” extreme couponing at CVS. Well, a trip to CVS this past week proved that sentiment to still be true. As I do whenever I shop at CVS, I scanned my Extracare Card at the kiosk in the front of the store. (Collin over at Hip2Save calls it the “CVS Magic Machine.”) One of the coupons that printed out was for $5 off a bottle of Zyrtec, 25 count or more. Considering our family has allergies and responds to Zyrtec better than any other allergy medicine,...

Forget Whole Paycheck, How About Whole Savings?

September 15, 2011

Even though we keep hearing in the news about how the price for groceries is going up, my husband and I have noticed an interesting trend: the grocery stores that we once considered to be too expensive for regular shopping oftentimes offer better deals or cheaper prices than “regular” supermarkets. For example, I’ve always considered Wegman’s to be beyond my reach, financially. I get that Wegman’s is a lovely place to shop–the first time my husband food shopped there, he jokingly asked, “Do you think I could move in to Wegman’s?” But I’d always assumed that with higher “production”...

Free Banking

September 12, 2011
By

You’ll recall that last spring my husband and I decided to find a new bank. Much of the reason for this change was because our bank had instituted a series of new fees, that would have us, long-time customers, losing money on the relationship. Banks are still in the news, now that word is out that some banks will begin charging service fees for using a debit card. Thankfully, I’m not a huge fan of debit cards and rarely use mine, so this news won’t affect me too much. Even with all this, it is possible to find a...
