This week's Freebie Friday roundup includes 17 new freebies that you can take advantage of in the next week. Some of the companies mentioned include Chipotle, Simon Malls, York Photo, Cinnabon and Max & Erma's.
Are you going to have yourself a merry little Christmas? How would you like to have a merry freebie Christmas? Though many stores are closed on Christmas Day, the few that are open look like they are going to offer free stuff as part of their Christmas freebies 2012. I don’t know if you’re planning to go out on Christmas Day, or whether you’re spending it at home with your family. However, if you are out and about–and you happen to be passing by one of these businesses offering Christmas freebies 2012–you’ll know enough to stop in and get...
Do you like to get things for free when you travel? I know that I do. In fact, I’ve come to assume that there will be complimentary things like free Wi-Fi in the airports and hotels I visit when I’m on the road. And when I have to pay for these assumed conveniences, I’m mad. I’m not the only traveler who likes to get things for free. GO Airport Express, which provides airport shuttles to and from O’Hare International Airport and Midway Airport, polled travelers nationwide about what their favorite and best freebies are. For starters most travelers like...

Even though Starbucks isn’t participating in National Coffee Day 2012, it is still possible to get free coffee at Starbucks. Here’s how. Through November 12, 2012, you can get yourself a free cup of coffee when you buy four cups of coffee. Starbucks is calling it the coffee runner reward. When you stop in to order four coffees, you can get the fifth for free. You’ll need to download the “order form” on the Starbucks website, fill it out with your coffee orders, and hand it to the barista when you place your order for you to get your...

National Coffee Day 2012 is this Saturday, September 29th. I don’t know about you but it has to be one of my favorite holidays, because coffee is one of my favorite beverages. I go to bed every night, excited that I get to get up the next morning and have coffee. I kid you not. Some restaurants, retailers and eateries nationwide started their National Coffee Day celebrations early, which is why I’m posting about deals today and not on Saturday. Here are 9 places you can go nationwide, today and, in some instances, through the end of the weekend,...
Next Saturday, September 29th, is National Coffee Day, with many restaurants nationwide giving away free cups of coffee. McDonald’s, however, is getting a head start on that freebie. Free Premium Small Coffee Week at McDonald’s started on Sunday, September 23rd and is going through Saturday the 29th. You’ll find this week-long freebie at participating McDonald’s restaurants across the Eastern United States. (Sorry, coffee drinkers, in the South, Midwest, Mountain Region, and West Coast.) I found a press release that suggested you visit the McDonald’s Facebook page for a complete list of restaurants. However, when I visited that very page...
Did you happen to catch me on the “10! Show” this morning on NBC 10? I was sharing some more of my advice on how you can save $500 a month with small changes. Thank you for making your way over to my Suddenly Frugal blog. Below you’ll find a recap of the advice I gave during my interview, including links to more information about the 7 products that I mentioned that can help you put money back in your monthly budget. I hope that if this is your first time visiting my blog that you’ll take a look...
Did back to school start for you yet? If not, I’ll bet it’s soon. My high school athletes have already started their respective sport’s preseason, which has them getting up early and, hopefully, getting back into the swing of things for school to start. Speaking of school I’m trying to include school-related freebies from now through September to help keep your back to school shopping on the cheap.
With summer practically here, you may be looking for ways to free up some cash to enjoy summer activities with your friends and family. That’s why I’ve revisited some of my original frugal roots to come up with these 5 ways to put $500 back in your pocket this month. These tips are a good reminder if you’ve fallen off the frugal wagon or never hitched a ride.
So it seems that at Einstein Bros Bagels, March is “Darn Good Coffee” month. And each week this eatery is releasing a new, food-related deal on its Facebook page. Last week was a discount on coffee–according to Cities on the Cheap, that 50% off a Caffe Mocha or White Chocolate Mocha is still available. This week the deal is free coffee! Here’s the scoop: you get a free cup of regular drip coffee at Einstein Bros Bagels with any purchase. There are four flavors/kinds of coffee to choose from for your freebie. Hazelnut is included–yum, my favorite kind of...
Right now Subway is offering free breakfast to those living in certain Southern areas, including Augusta, Asheville, some parts of South Carolina and more. Actually, what Subway is doing is taking reservations for this free breakfast offer, which goes live January 30th. But to get this freebie, you need to act now. Head over to this Subway website to see if you live in the qualifying areas, and if you do, sign up to get a free flatbread breakfast sandwich and coffee at Subway. Yum, wish Pennsylvania was included in this freebie! Thanks to Julie at Kansas City on...
We’re at the end of the first full week of 2012. Do you think the Mayans were on to something about 2012 and the doomsday scenario? I sure hope not. In the meantime, I’m going to keep on living frugally, including sharing with you all of the freebies I can track down in a given week. Here is a bunch for you to enjoy, including some brand new ones never mentioned before on Suddenly Frugal!
NEW YEAR’S DAY FREEBIE: Ring in the New Year with some free caffeine, thanks to a BOGO offer at Caribou Coffee. If you print out this coupon and bring it with you–or show the image on your mobile phone–when you visit Caribou Coffee on New Year’s Day, you’ll get one free cup of coffee when you buy one cup of coffee. I just found out about this freebie otherwise I would have included it in this week’s Freebie Friday. (Thanks to Cities on the Cheap for info about this freebie.)
In addition to posting a week’s worth of regular freebies in this edition of Freebie Friday, I’ve also attempted to put together special New Year’s Eve freebies that I hope will make your New Year’s celebration frugal and bright. If I come across any additional freebies after this post goes live, I’ll do an update. Additionally, if you know of New Year’s Eve freebies that I haven’t included here, please post a comment with that information.
(Sorry to my Suddenly Frugal subscribers that this post didn’t go live in time for blog posts by email. I realize you’ll be getting this a day later. Again, sorry.) Today is the last day of the Starbucks “12 Day of Sharing” and, in my opinion, is the best deal yet. You know what they always say about leaving the best for last. So what is December 12th’s deal? If you purchase a Starbucks tumbler ($19.95), you’ll get free brewed coffee at Starbucks for the entire month of January 2012. Of course, you’ll need to bring that tumbler with...
Starbucks debuted its “12 Days of Sharing” on December 1st, which is basically daily deals on gift items at Starbucks. Too bad it doesn’t apply to drinks to be had in the store during the holiday season. To find out each day’s deal, you can text MERRY to 697289 to have the offers sent to your phone (standard texting rates apply), or your can visit the Starbucks Let’s Merry website. Each day you will be able to unveil a new deal on the Starbucks tree (left) by clicking on that day’s ornament. You can click ahead to see what...
Before I get into this week’s freebies, a reminder: you have until Black Friday (November 25th) to enter the Free Shipping Day gift card giveaway. You could win a $75 gift card to Kohls.com. Click here to find the giveaway details. Now onto the freebies!
Starbucks is promoting its holiday drinks with a BOGO–buy one, get one free–promotion that starts today, November 17th, and runs through Sunday, November 20th. Here’s how it works. Stop in to Starbucks on the dates above, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., and order one of the following holiday drinks: Peppermint Mocha Skinny Peppermint Mocha Caramel Brulée Latte Gingerbread Latte Eggnog Latte. When you purchase one of these Starbucks holiday drinks, you’ll get a second for free. What isn’t clear is which SIZE drink you can order and get for free. I think I’ll go for a Venti and...
A few years ago my husband got me this awesome Cuisinart Grind and Brew Thermal Coffeemaker (left). What’s amazing about this machine is that it grinds beans on the spot and then brews the coffee, all in one place. I’ve used it every day since getting it as a gift–save for days when we’ve lost power, thanks to recent storms, or when I’ve taken advantage of the free coffee deals that I’ve covered on this blog. I believe that having such an amazing coffeemaker in my kitchen is why I’ve been able to be so consistent about brewing my...
National Coffee Day is Thursday, September 29th. You would think that would mean that lots of places nationwide would be giving away free coffee. But unlike National Coffee Day celebrations of years gone by, I could find only two companies participating in 2011. I’ve listed below where you can stop in for a free cup of Joe on Thursday: 7-11: Get a free medium coffee between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m., at participating locations and while supplies last. Krispy Kreme: Krispy Kreme is taking advantage of National Coffee Day to introduce customers to its new house blend coffee. You...
It’s no surprise that with our current economy, people want something for nothing. And it’s no different when it comes to Earth Day. Perhaps that’s because a few years ago companies started the tradition of giving away Earth Day freebies, such as reusable shopping bags, and now everyone expects those freebies every time Earth Day comes around. (Earth Day this year, by the way, is April 22, 2011.) Happily, companies, retailers, and organizations have gotten the memo, and are offering up plenty of Earth Day freebies in 2011. Here are those worth noting: Free Food Bring a reusable coffee...
Don’t forget to get your free medium coffee at Dunkin Donuts on Mondays in March, as I mentioned in last week’s Freebie Friday. Only problem? Not all locations are participating, including the Dunkin Donuts where I live. When I walked in this morning and asked for my free medium coffee, the people behind the counter looked at me as if I had three heads. Needless to say, I’m brewing my own free coffee at home right now. But maybe you’ll have better luck at a Dunkin Donuts near you. ***UPDATE*** The folks at Dunkin Donuts provided this list of...
I’ve tried to find as many Thanksgiving freebies as possible this week. Gobble, gobble! City-Specific Freebies Starting January 1, 2010 Washington, DC will charge residents 5 cents per plastic bag they take when shopping. (IKEA already does this.) To help Washingtonians stock up on reusable bags, the city will be giving away more than 120,000 free market bags in the next few months. Enjoy free ice skating at New York City’s Bryant Park! Detroit-area families that need coats for their kids, take note: Happy’s Pizza and Greater Grace Temple have joined forces in “Happy’s Coats For Kids” Winter Coat...
